| AGULHA NÃO PICA CLUB - EMBROIDERY WORKSHOPS In Portugal, agulha não pica promotes embroidery workshops. In the "First stitches" workshop, students learn five very easy stitchtes using a Portuguese typical heart pattern. They learn how to transfer a pattern, to choose the floss, the fabric and the needle, different kind of embroideries and sititches and some historical curiosities. Here you'll find some photos taken during the workshops... All students take a gift home... A handmade sample to train the stitches they have learned. When the heart pattern and the sample are completed, the new embroiderer will be officialy approved as an "agulha não pica's club" member! These are the photos of some of their wonderful embroideries. agulha não pica's club on the Island of Príncipe In August 2011, the club met in a very distant and special place making the delight of many kids and even adults. For almost a month many children (around 150) embroidered on cardboard on the island of Principe, in Africa, and the results were wonderful... You can see the photos here and appreciate the delicious smiles of the artists... Done with the heart From time to time, on special occasions, we organize "done with the heart" events. It happened on Valentine's Day and on Father's Day. In these events many kits are available, the participants may choose one or more and complete them with our help, taking the work home already done without paying more! A great excuse to get together around the needles! |
