As the needle does not prick when used with the head and the heart…
agulha não pica proposes itself to teach craft techniques to children and adults and has been successful with both publics! The themes of Portuguese culture inspire our motives and our techniques are inspired by age-old arts: embroidering, hole-punching and stamping. We carefully choose Portuguese fabrics to make the taleigos, we use our own cork, we’ve looked for the still lasting manufacturers of Portuguese cotton and wool threads, we are keen on using our cardboard and we search for traditional patterns. We add needles, embroidery hoops, frames, stuff for hole punching, everything that can awaken the passion for embroidery both in children and grownups. We address the mind and the heart... Address the mind? Yes. Embroidery allows counting, develops concentration and logical thinking and has benefits on reading and writing by developing sharp motion. Address the heart? Sure! Most of all, stitching is great fun! Our embroidery kits, for beginners of all ages, contain all the supplies needed to learn how to embroider kept in taleigos (traditional bread bags). The cardboard embroidery kit is ideal for small children to start and the embroidery hoop may be the next step. Other kits propose activities with cork and techniques such as collage and card decoration or scrapbooking. Embroidering on burlap is also a great experience for the younger ones... The agulha não pica items can also be offered as souvenirs at parties and meetings for children and adults. A small frame with a heart to stitch is an unforgettable memory for the friends of the bride and cardboard embroidery kit a creative idea to cheer a birthday party.
